About

Vaishnava Dawn is a think tank dedicated to creating a vision for a global Vaishnava future. We aim to conduct research and produce media in a variety of fields:

  • History of theology, literature, ritual, and culture in Gaudiya Vaishnavism and other Vaishnava traditions;
  • Social and political systems as necessary supports for, and expressions of, Vaishnava life;
  • Modern intellectual and cultural forces that run counter to Vaishnava values and make living a Vaishnava life difficult, which need to be better understood for solutions to be developed;
  • Constructive theology and philosophy aimed at creating solutions to contemporary issues based on a deep and rigorous understanding of the history of our tradition as well as the problems to which our living tradition must respond.

We take a holistic and integrative approach to the challenges of being a Vaishnava in the modern world. This requires us to take seriously both the historical tradition and the issues we’re faced with today. In order to know how to solve modern problems, we need to know how similar challenges were handled in the past, and we need to know the problems well.

To these ends, Vaishnava Dawn intends to organize conferences, publish proposals, present a Vaishnava worldview, and build a network of collaboration.

If we can envision the future, maybe we can build it.
